I have just delivered this piece to Gateshead , it will feature in "Novel" a group exhibition by members of the North East Book Art Network which opens on Saturday 1st June.. The exhibition explores and celebrates the region's culture and history as part of The Festival of the North East. When researching the piece I made for the Grace Darling Museum I sent for a book on Grace via the internet. When the book arrived all the illustrations had been removed so I have "replaced" the front piece with my own stitched drawing.

Monotype Mania
I always teach a printmaking summer school and this summer's theme is the Monotype process. The course takes place August 15 - 18. I just need one more student to make the course viable so please have a look at the course blurb HERE to be inspired. Its a real luxury for both me and the students to have 4 days to develop work to a high standard. This is one of my own still life monotype prints which I sell in my studio and nowk through Etsy HERE.
French Floral
More patching together. I just love browns..., and wear and tear as shown in the corner of the incorporated utility quilt. The flowered fabric is an old french linen.

More Minimal
These two pieces are going into the Farfield Mill show in June to complement a wall quilt in the same colours. I have used bits if unpicked quilt top, tweed, linen and flour sacks which are pretty appropriate to that location

My Studio
I am moving studios at the end of June. Just one floor down. I am ready for a change and a big clear out and though I may have less storage in the new space I will have a south facing window and a window seat to sit in and dream!
Anyway if there are any local artists reading this my lovely space is now up for grabs. Here is the advert.
